European Affairs Division

The BDI works actively in Brussels and Berlin to promote German industry’s interests. European policy plays a key role for the Federation of German Industries as some 80 percent of German business law originates in Brussels. We work closely with European institutions as well as with the government and parliament in Germany. The BDI focuses on issues such as completing the European single market, reducing regulation and bureaucracy, finding market-oriented solutions and fostering the spirit of free enterprise. Our objective is to strengthen the international competitiveness of European companies and the European Union as a whole.
