Foreign Trade Promotion

Foreign Trade Promotion

The Federation of German Industries (BDI) works actively to ensure that German industry can develop its position on the established foreign markets and to facilitate market access to the dynamic emerging markets.

To this end the BDI pools and represents the concerns of small and medium-sized enterprises at national and international level and provides information on all important and foreign trade developments. At home the BDI therefore supports institutions such as the Global Business Forum – the link between all foreign trade events at the HANNOVER MESSE as regards content and communications -  the regional Foreign Trade Forum in Bremen, the Global Connect in Stuttgart and works closely with "Germany Trade and Invest“, in particular as regards foreign trade promotion.

The BDI also maintains its worldwide network abroad with its liaison offices, the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, the Embassies and the German Centres. Within the framework of the regional initiatives of German business, the BDI plays a key role in the Asia-Pacific region, North and Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa, together with other leading associations and regional organisations.Systematic support for international business via the foreign trade promo-tion measures of the Bund and the European Union is particularly important for industry’s small and medium-sized enterprises. In cooperation with the business community, trade promotion and initiatives must be adjusted continuously to changing conditions.
