Without economic growth supported by private engagement it would seem almost impossible to achieve the "Millenium Development Goals" set under the aegis of the United Nations. Both the progress agreed on for the long-term fight against poverty as well as the targets for healthcare, education and environmental protection require a worldwide development partnership to be established in which industry would play a central role.
