Latin America

Germany is the third largest (the EU the largest) investor in Latin America. Some 2000 German companies have invested 60 billion euro in the region. The bilateral trade volume amounted to 45 billion euro in 2008. The countries of Latin America vary greatly as regards their political and economic development (GDP/capital, growth, stability, diversification) and thus as regards their importance for the German and European economies.
