German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI)

Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie e.V. ©ZVEI
One of ZVEI's main objectives is to secure the competitive and innovative ability of the electrical engineering industry in Germany. We, the electrical industry, are the most important creative thinkers for product and process innovations in German industry, with a wide range of products varying from electronic components to system solutions for automation, energy, transportation, safety and medical technology.

The ZVEI, representing a cross-section of the industry, is a pacesetter of technical progress with recommendations for research, technology, control, environmental protection, health, education and science policies. With offices in Berlin and Brussels, we play an active role in making political decisions.

In concrete initiatives, such as energy intelligence, ZVEI is pointing the way to increased and longer-term growth in Germany. ZVEI advocates a safe and future-proof power supply that intelligently integrates renewable energies. It promotes the use of high-tech products for environmental protection and in health care management. The German electrical industry covers almost all components for the electromobile: from the motor to the various electronic systems to the vital energy-storing high-energy battery. The necessary infrastructure, the power charging station with the very latest in control and regulating software, is also the domain of manufacturers in the ZVEI. Furthermore, the association supports market-related international standardising work.
