Verband der Chemischen Industrie e.V. ©VCI

The VCI is the forum for opinion-forming processes and exchanges of experiences in the chemical industry. Furthermore, the VCI has a bridging function between the chemical industry and politicians, public authorities, other industries, science and media.

Together with 20 member associations, the VCI represents the political-economic interests of 1,600 German chemical companies and German subsidiaries of foreign companies.
The VCI wants to improve framework conditions for the chemical industry and secure the future of Germany as a chemical industry location in global competition. The VCI is the umbrella organization for all chemical sectors and "the" voice of the chemical industry.

With some 440,000 staff, the chemical industry is the fourth largest employer in Germany. Globally operating businesses and numerous small and medium-sized enterprises are drivers of progress and economic performance, because ideas and solutions from the chemical industry are needed by other industries. As the largest chemical manufacturer in Europe and the fourth largest worldwide, the German chemical industry is faced with strong international competition where success is possible only with new and improved products.

The VCI is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, with a Berlin office for contacts with the German federal parliament and government and a liaison office in Brussels. In the various parts of Germany, there are eight regional associations as contact points for local politicians and public authorities.
