BDI praises the choice of Günther Oettinger as the new EU Commissioner
Günther Oettinger is nominated as new EU commissioner
"Oettinger has considerable experience in the field of economic policy and is a respected proponent of the social market economy".
This stated BDI President Hans-Peter Keitel on Günther Oettinger's nomination as the new German EU Commissioner.
"As Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg he stands for an economically strong federal state and he played a major role in building this strength. If he makes use of his experience in his new position he will be a EU Commissioner who promotes growth and creates jobs", said Hans-Peter Keitel.
“Oettinger is an ardent European and has extensive knowledge in this field. His experience in dealing with bureaucracy and complicated negotiations will help him in his new position. German industry will be happy to support him in his important task", continued President Keitel.
